Business Account

A Character's Business Account will only ever be comprised of illegal money, never legitimate or 'clean' money (which is instead recorded as being in his 'Bank Account' - for full details see the page of that name within this section).

Usually 40% of a Character's total Net Profit (total income less all expenses) is added each week to his Business Account, with the remaining 60% being divided equally between his Personal Account and the Tribute he pays to his own immediate Boss.

The Business Account will fluctuate each week for most Characters, as this is the account used for covering any additional expenses and for making one-off payments such as buying vehicles or weapons, or repaying a Boss Loan. Over time however, the Business Account of most Characters would tend to build up in value, provided they are operating profitable rackets. The cost of new illegal rackets would also be drawn from the Business Account when set up, and indeed, this is the main purpose of saving up money in this account over a period of time. In addition, Characters might also invest more of this money in an existing racket, if a suitable racket type such as Loansharking (loaning money at illegal interest rates). See the page within this section on 'Investment'.

A Character's Business Account is essentially his 'operating funds', which is often literally carried about on his person in large bills. It is this money which will be taken by a rival should this Character be kidnapped, and also sometimes when he is killed - depending on the circumstances of his death. His corpse is more likely to be robbed during a successful 'Premise Raid' than at any other time, but corpse-robbing can also occur in some other situations.

Any ordinary Boss Loan to this Character would be made from the Boss' Business Account to the Character's Business Account, and any repayments would be made in the same fashion, as a transfer between respective Business Accounts (literally, handing the cash over to each other or through another Character). By the same token, when a Character draws Guards, weapons or vehicles from the gang pool, payment for these will be made from his Business Account. Should this be insufficient, his Business Account will be emptied and the amount outstanding will be shown as a Boss Loan. See the page on 'Boss Loans' within this section for more information on gang finances.
